April Events Report

With many of our members in the deep south trying to avoid the winter blues our attendance was down considerably from meetings held in the spring and fall.  However, fifty men were present to hear 

Dr. Larry Schmidt speak on The Plant Based Diet and remarking on the worldwide problem with diabetes.  He emphasized that many disease entities can be controlled and even reversed with dietary intervention.  Many questions followed the presentation and there was an indication from the members present of a strong desire to have Dr. Schmidt return for another presentation in the near future.  Dinner preceded the presentation and it consisted of vegetable lasagna, garlic bread and salad followed with pie and was enjoyed by many.

We had reports on the successful Salvation Army Kettle Campaign and our Campaign to raise M.R.I. funds for the Regional Health Centre which netted nearly $7,200.

The next event on our calendar is a Pancake Breakfast on April 11th at the Sauble United Church.  Refer to our website for more details which will follow.

Next dinner meeting is Tuesday, April 21st, 2020 when we are planning to have  John Raeburn, owner of Carson's Camp at Sauble Beach, who will give insights into the development of this well-known and highly regarded campground.
