Stratford Theatre Trip

Once again our Men's Club is offering trips to the Stratford Theatre. These have proven to be very popular and fill up quickly. This year's trips are being offered to experience the award winning musical “Chicago”. The cost of $140* per person includes a comfortable seat on a Kunkel bus, your theatre ticket, lunch at The Queens Inn in Stratford, dinner at Anna Mae’s Restaurant in Millbank, and all gratuities. Due to the popularity of this show two trips are being offered. The first trip will be on Friday, May 15th and the second trip on Thursday, September 17th. Get your tickets early or you may be disappointed.
You will be interested to learn that the Stratford Festival has secured the rights to the first major production of Kander and Ebb's Chicago outside of New York and London in 30 years! Chicago is a musical for our time. It's about celebrity culture, corruption, lawyers and cynicism. It's about the power of leveraging all your assets to do the wrong thing and filled with incredible music! Chicago holds the record for longest running musical revival on Broadway, will be entirely reimagined by Feore, whose work with musicals on the Festival stage has transformed classics and transfixed audiences. Under her creative guidance, this magnificent production will be created especially for the Festival's thrust stage and unlike any version of the show you may have seen before.

Here is an activity that will not only help our community but also keep you in shape! Join the volunteers in our men's club who will gather any trash that has accumulated over the past year on the Sauble Falls Parkway and see that it is sent to the local dump. The men's club has for many years taken responsibility for this annual cleanup but we need your help. Please join other volunteers at 6th Street and the Parkway at 9:00 a.m. and be sure to wear rubber boots or work boots and gloves. When the job is completed we head to the Sauble Golf Course for coffee and muffins. If you have any questions contact Rick Schott, our men's club coordinator. Please come and support this important project.

Anchored by the extraordinary talents of fiddler and showman Jesse Grandmont, Fiddler on the Loose is a gregarious musical variety show that is sure to raise the roof!
With its stirring blend of music, dancing, comedy, and of course, fantastic fiddling, this lively revue features over 60 songs running the gamut of genres from country and bluegrass to Celtic, classical, pop, and more.
The eclectic song list moves seamlessly through memorable tunes like "Dust in The Wind," "Devil Went Down to Georgia," "Snowbird," "Misty," "Take Me Home Country Roads," "Orange Blossom Special," "King of the Road," and many, many more.
Don't miss this high-energy musical extravaganza, but be warned – this show may contain scenes of gratuitous violins!

This is an exceptional price as it includes transportation in a Kunkel coach, two meals, theater production and all gratuities. Our trip planner, Borden Evans has commented that the Grand Bend junket is very popular because of the after-play stop for dinner at the Beach Street Station, a converted CPR station overlooking the lake. The lunch stop has more of a pub atmosphere. Both stops are in Goderich at eateries operated by the same owner and so they advertise their meals with adjectives. Borden gives the following example:
Lunch
-
____Lake Huron Yellow Perch (3 pieces) served with our home cut fries and coleslaw
-
____ BLT Wrap: Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo in a tomato basil wrap, served with fries or a small homemade soup.
-
____ BBQ Chicken on a bun served with fries and coleslaw.
Dinner
Pickerel, pan seared with fresh tomato salsa, wild rice medley, seasonal vegetables
OR ____8 oz. AAA Strip Loin Steak, roasted potato, seasonal vegetables

Sounds delicious, don't you agree!
