The Craft sale and barbecue will be held at the Sauble Community Centre and help is needed for set-up beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Don Riddell is the contact person and will gladly take names from men who can help with cooking the usual gourmet peameal burgers and hot dogs.  Proceeds will go to our local charities.  This date goes despite the weather.  Rain or shines we will have a sun screen to keep the volunteers protected.  A sign up sheet has been sent  via e-mail asking for your support or you may contact Don now by email or phone.  Don't be afraid to come out and help.  There is very little pain when you provide big smiles to hungry customers.

Here is what is needed: 2 shifts of 6 men

1st Shift - set up booth at 9:30 a.m. - we will be serving our famous bacon on a bun, hamburgers and hot dogs and drinks

2nd Shift - take over at noon and continue to serve until 2 p.m. after which the booth will be taken down

** each shift will require 1 cash/sales person, 1 server, 2 cooks and 2 extras to organize and run the shift acting as helpers and runners.

Thank you for your anticipated support.

The Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services Department will be holding a municipal hazardous and special waste collection event in Sauble Beach at the Amabel Works Yard.

Area residents are encouraged to bring old batteries, paint, fluorescent tubes, etc. for recycling.

This is another community project supported by the Men’s Club members.

We are once again looking for volunteers (6) to assist with directing traffic and the collection process to move items from vehicles to the appropriate bins for sorting.  We are provided with the personal protective equipment required for the work (i.e. gloves, vests and eye protection) as well as refreshments. Volunteers are required to have CSA approved steel toe boots and attend an orientation and health and safety session 20 minutes before the start of the event.

Please call or email Alf Roth at to volunteer your help. Below are the details.
